Beautiful Scotland

This past weekend we ventured north up to Edinburgh to take advantage of the early May bank holiday.  When we arrived, the weather was cold and so windy it blew your umbrella out.  I must admit I said a few times that first day, "I hate Scotland."  All three of us were battling a bad cold bug and the weather was not helping.  But eventually we caught a "wee" bit of sun and we really enjoyed our stay.
Tyler passed out on the train in between train cars in his stroller on the way there

Beautiful morning by Arthur's Seat
Contemplating the game plan for getting all three of us up Arthur's Seat
JJ decided to just carry him up....
So we ditched the stroller in the tall grass. Note - I did push it empty all the way up to this point.

Halfway there!

The Kern men conquered Arthur's Seat!

Tyler enjoyed hiking down.  I think that Tyler is a already a better hiker than I am.  They had to wait for me to catch up :)
I love this pic!  If you look close Tyler has a little walking stick.
All 3 of us!
Holyrood Park - the swans really wanted food

Back at the B&B - we set up in the reading room while Tyler slept during the day and at night.

Breakfast didn't start at the B&B until 8:30 so we had to find something to do from when Tyler woke up at 6am to 8:30am, while everyone else in Edinburgh slept.  The B&B owner told us about Prestonfield House that had cattle and wildlife.  This was a nice early morning activity.  Apparently it was too early to see the peacocks though - maybe next time!

The Royal Mile - lined with kilt & cashmere stores, Scotch stores, and bagpipers!

Tyler really enjoyed the bagpipers.  He would clap every time the song ended.

The Scotch Whisky Experience just outside the castle.  Maybe we will do this if we ever get there sans kid
The Kerns go to Edinburgh castle!

We stopped in Camera Obscura - a funhouse of sorts.  Tyler loved it!
He loved trying to catch the fish on the projection floor

Trying out the binoculars

The best Whisky store on the Royal Mile - they were SO nice!
Working on a molar...

Drinks at dinner.  I'm not one for ordering straight up scotch but when we tasted it at the whisky store, it cured both of our colds for a short period so we had some at dinner!  Don't worry the sippy cup is 100% milk...
Tyler absolutely loved the waitresses at this restaurant.  At one point he had 4 of them playing peekaboo with him.  He is SUCH a flirt!
And the ladies do love him too!

Tyler liked to brush his teeth while looking out the big window of our room

The breakfast room (yay for highchairs) - this place rocked!

Tyler is getting a little too big for these Euro-cots!
Our wonderful B&B

Back in London, Tyler had a blast with Alison on Tuesday and they had a little picnic in the nice weather

I'm taking pictures through all the seasons of this tree outside our window.  It finally sprouted leaves over the weekend!

All the trees are in complete bloom now in London.  There is beauty everywhere!
