Royal Parks and Royal BLUE!!!

The weather finally improved here in London over the weekend so we spent most of it outside.  It was still pretty cold - I don't think it made it above 50 but the sun was out and so were the people of London.  We went to the Parliament Hill Farmers Market early Saturday morning and it was awesome!  We are definitely going to try to stop there a couple times a month.  The produce was actually a little cheaper than the organic food at grocery stores and we had a good time walking around, sampling, and buying!  We bought this amazing steak for a beef stew that I made yesterday, fresh British apples and I'm even starting to turn Tyler on to brussel sprouts (I will sadly never convert JJ though)!  Tyler enjoyed playing at the playground nearby as well.  Later in the afternoon we found another park near us that had a zipline for kids so that was fun for JJ and Tyler to play on :)

Saturday night JJ and I kept going back and forth about what we wanted to do for the Michigan game - do we just dvr it and not have any contact with the outside world until we are done watching and know the outcome or do we get up and watch it live?  We decided to watch it live and it was a great choice.  I can't believe Michigan is playing in the National Championship tonight - it is so exciting!  We had fun watching the game in the dark, careful with the volume of the TV and our voices so we didn't wake Tyler up.  There was a lot of silent yelling, fist pumps, high fives and jumping.  During the game we were texting friends and I was on Facebook and it helped connect us to home in a way that I think we both needed as we are both getting a little homesick for the good old US of A.  When the game ended at 4:45am here we were both too jazzed to fall asleep but managed to get about an hour in before Big T woke up.  Now we have to watch the game live tonight again but that will be a bit more difficult since we both have to work in the morning on Tuesday.  Come on blue - good luck tonight and make this worth our while!

Sunday we walked over to Primrose Hill - a big park about a mile from our house.   We hadn't been there since August when we came to look for our flat.  It is a great huge open space and Tyler was in heaven chasing dogs and balls around the park.  One great thing about London is all of the green space here.  There are these massive parks (Royal Parks) all over the city and we certainly enjoyed them over the weekend.

Tyler may have a career as a furniture mover. He moved this chair around for a good 20 minutes on Friday.

Runners coming down Parliament Hill in Hampstead Heath.  There must have been a race Saturday morning.

He still LOVES the swings!

He also loves terrorizing our neighbor's cat.  They have a little swinging cat door so she can go right in the house and out of Tyler's grasp.

Zipline at the park.  This made me a little nervous but I knew that JJ's athletic ability would keep them out of harms way and it did.

Tyler loved it!

Primrose Hill

Tyler rolled down the hill for the first time, giggling all the way.  I think this is one of many rolls down this hill :)

I found a stick!

They had the coolest thing at the Primrose Hill playground.  When you jumped on the squares it made a chime - each square had a different tone.  Tyler didn't know how to jump but he was very intrigued.
We brought a little soccer ball and taught T how to kick.  He thought it was cool until....

He saw a real soccer ball and only wanted to play with this kid's gear.  The boy was nice and let him play around for a while.  Think I need to go shopping for a full sized soccer ball!  Like father, like son!

Now this was heaven for the little guy.  4 dogs playing with a soccer ball.  He just kept chasing them.  I'm not sure if he was more excited about the ball or the dogs, but he was so happy!

Running around at the little playground by us.
