Theater, Pedalos & Pools - A Busy Weekend in London

We had such a wonderful weekend!  It started at the park Friday evening when JJ came home a bit early for work and we had leftovers so I didn't need to prep anything for dinner and we could enjoy a nice evening at the park.  When we woke up Saturday morning, it was raining and we decided to take Tyler to see one of his favorite books come to life on stage:  The Tiger Who Came to Tea.  The book is very British but Big T loves it.  He loved the play too and had a hard time leaving when it was over.  Actually hard time is an understatement, he had a stage 5 total tantrum meltdown.  He was screaming at the top of his lungs "Watch it AGAIN!!!!" as people were leaving their seats.  It was a bit embarrassing :)  But we are glad he liked it and we may have to have a better exit strategy when we take him to see his first movie at the movie theater.  Later Saturday evening it was hot and we don't have air conditioning so we decided to take a walk to the pool for a dip to cool off.  Then Sunday we walked to Regent's Park to take a paddle boat ride on one of the little lakes there.  We are just crossing things off the list to do in London!

This is our favorite vegetable garden in the park near where we go to swim lessons on Friday.   Tyler loves going to each box and looking at what is growing.

Tyler enjoys playing in the fountain before swim lessons.
An evening swing with Daddy!

Tyler still loves the baby swings even though he is starting to outgrow them!

Pure joy!

Stick sword fight!

Tyler was so excited to go see The Tiger Who Came to Tea live at the Lyric Theatre

Tyler had his ticket ready!

Where's the tiger?

We got there pretty early to enjoy the theat-ah (spoken in a thick British accent) experience!

Tyler was so serious during the whole thing.  We weren't sure if he was enjoying it, until he was so sad to leave.  At the end I saw his tiny little lower lip quivering and I asked if he was sad.  That started the giant meltdown.  I guess he did like it!

Big T is getting ready for our big paddle boat ride!

The Kerns departing for our first paddle boat ride together!  They call them pedalos here.  Very European sounding!

Captain Tyler was taking his "steering" job very, very seriously

Enjoying a nice ride!

Finally we got a smile!!!

Tyler enjoyed pointing out all the ducks and saying "excuse me" as we approached them :)
