Uncle comes to town!!!

We were so happy to have JJs brother, Matt, come stay with us for 10 days. Tyler had SO much fun with Uncle (he's kind of like Madonna in our family, only one name is needed). We didn't really have a set agenda and it was nice to just relax, watch the World Cup, and enjoy being together.  We can't wait to move home to be closer to friends and family and have more great times.
Tyler was excited (more than this picture shows) to get Uncle from the airport.  We made him a special sign to greet him :)
Story time with Uncle

Something this cool can only happen when Daddy and Uncle get together

Tyler saved Uncle from being trapped in the phone booth

We took a bike tour all over central London.  I was a little unsure whether or not to take Tyler as it would cut into his nap time and I didn't know if he would be able to stay on the bike for the 3+ hours of the tour.  But he did great!  We have to get one of these seats for our bikes.  He absolutely loved riding in it.  Every time the tour guide stopped to explain an area Tyler would shout, "Want to go again!"  He had a fit when we had to get off the bikes for lunch.

Tyler didn't really want to get in this picture

We went to Wimbledon for the Tuesday matches.  It was one of the coolest things I've done in London.  You can go any day of the tournament and wait in the "queue" to get grounds tickets which gets you access to all the everything except for games on the big courts.

Here we are at the entrance to The Queue.  It was one of the most well organized events I've ever been to.  And we were lucky that on the day we went the queue was actually short and we only had to wait for about 45 minutes.   The great thing was that it didn't feel like we were waiting because the whole time you were walking through this maze to get to the entrance and there were plenty of things to look at while walking.

These were the hardcore people who were camping out for the good tickets.  The people working there said they had been camping out for a couple days already.  They organize the tents so there is an order to the queue.

Getting closer!!!!

Almost there!

Whew a free juice handout!  What a nice break!

We made it to Centre Court!  Tyler had no clue what we were waiting in line for.  He was more interested in his airplane in his hands.

We got seats on Court 17 to watch a great men's doubles set

We had great seats for all the action on the court.  This was an exciting set that we watched.  It was my first live tennis viewing experience and I truthfully didn't know how quiet the crowd is.  When we sat down I panicked a bit at how Tyler would do and how I would keep him quiet.  He was great though and immediately picked up that it was quiet time.  He ate his peanut butter and jelly and lots of snacks and a lollipop to help him stay quiet.  It was so cute he would lean over and whisper, "More cheese..."  At the end of the set, which went into a tiebreaker so was particularly long, we decided to leave and Tyler shouted out, "Watch tennis again!" making everyone around us smile.  It looks like he may follow in the Kern side of the family footsteps and become a tennis player!

After watching the whole set, Tyler was all about tennis.  He saw a little racquet at the gift shop and really wanted it.  After I bought it for him he loved playing "air tennis" the rest of the day.

We had a picnic lunch on the "Murray Mound" a great hill where you can watch the big matches on the big screen.  Here is Tyler getting some tennis pointers from Matt.

Sharapova who?  I'm more interested in my digger if I can't watch it right in front of me.

We got a front row seat on the top of a double decker on the way home.  Tyler worked on his driving skills.

Wimbledon Station

Later on that week we took Matt to the Heath.  Here we are exploring the great views of London

Splash pad fun with Uncle!!!

Weee!

Gosh having Uncle here is great!  Right after we finish an oreo shake, then we split a chocolate sundae!

Now it's time for business

Happy 4th of July!!!  We missed the sparklers and fireworks of the US, but we ended up going to a beer garden that had a BBQ so we tried to celebrate a bit!

He loves exploring with Uncle.  We were all sad to see him go back to Michigan.
